NeuroCure Innovation Program - From Researcher to Science Entrepreneur
Would you be curious to extend your skill set and explore whether your scientific results could have real-world impact? Are you ready to dive into product development and drive innovation that directly benefits patients and underserved needs?
NeuroCure, SPARK-BIH and the NeuroTechX network are joining forces to develop a program that bridges the gap between clinicians, basic research, and the neurotech industry - connecting research and product development. In a 1.5-day workshop, followed by a program, we offer the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with innovation tools such as Design Thinking.
Learning from our experience from previous workshops, supported by Stiftung Charité (I4H and D&D) and NeuroCure (NeuroCure Innovation) we are now offering an extended program including the basics of product development.
Everyone from the NeuroCure network is eligible to join! (E.g. students, researchers and clinicians from all career stages).
Phase 1: Innovation Workshop. (07.11. - 08.11.2025)
Using methods from the Design Thinking Toolbox, we will support you to identify the most promising ideas and bring them to the next level - by integrating the user perspective and journey, exploring possible stakeholders and product-market fit, and even building prototypes for initial testing.
The workshop will bring different perspectives together (basic research, clinicians, industry, business) to stress-test and progress the nascent innovations.
We invite you to present your innovative ideas, identified medical needs, or novel technologies and match them with corresponding problems or solutions.
Register HERE with one of the following starting inputs (please note: we do not support digital solution!):
- A medical need you have observed that requires innovation and change (without a proposed solution)
- Technology you are currently working on
- Research results that suggest a solution but lack a clear translational path
- A complete start-up idea with an identified medical need and an initial prototype
In the first phase, all projects will be presented, and participants will collectively decide which ones will be chosen as examples for the workshop!
Phase 2: Product development
With the support of dedicated mentors, online lectures, and information material, we will provide tailored guidance for the next step of your translational journey, helping you to bring your idea to the next level.
The program will conclude with a final event in January, where projects will receive additional feedback from industry experts on their next steps and form collaborations for future development.
Why you should join:
- Develop problem-solving skills by applying Design Thinking on real-life projects
- Be part in creating new products that deliver true patient benefit
- Connect with like-minded, innovative minds
- Compete for the chance to win exciting prices
